Web design is the design of web pages, websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, Images, and other Media collectively.

Web design is comparable with web development, which includes web server configuration, writing web applications in order to put it to use, and server security.

A website is a collection that’s a group of things or people working together in one place of information about a particular topic or subject. Designing a website is defined as the preparation and the bringing of something into existence of web pages that face in a particular direction to make up a website. A web page consists of definite knowledge for which the website is built up. For example, a website might be compared to a small booklet, where each page of the booklet is a web page of the site.

A website in most cases consists of text and images. The first page of a website is known as the Index or Home Page. Some websites use what is called a Come into Page. After each web page is created, they are typically linked together using a navigation menu composed of hyperlinks such as button, image maps and contextual links.

Once a website is completed, it must be published or uploaded in order to be viewable to the public over the internet. This is done using an FTP client or through the web browser. Once published the webmaster may use a variety of techniques to increase the traffic or hits that the website receives. This may include submitting the website to search engines such as Google®, Yahoo® MSN® and many others, exchanging links with other websites and creating affiliations or associations with similar websites.
